Just some doodles that became a repeat. I really love this one. It took me a while to get the colors just how I wanted them but it was worth all the trial and error.
Interested in a career in illustration? I recently signed up for the 2017 MATS (Make Art That Sells) Bootcamp. They briefly reopened registration and I just sort of jumped at the opportunity to join in. The bootcamp is now closed but they have classes you can take if you want to learn more about the business and pursue a career. I don't consider myself to be an illustrator but I won't let that get in the way of my having fun and learning a thing or two. I'll be a beginner.
Here is a peek at my 'beginner' illustrations for the first assignment for April - illuminated letters. While I initially felt intimated due to my lack of experience it really isn't an issue. Everyone is kind, helpful and completely supportive - it's a great environment especially if you're just getting your feet wet.
So far, so good. Easily keeping up and having fun.
My Day 01. So excited, though I only had a few minutes for the first day, but it was time enough to create a pattern I had already done in b&w. The original is below. I really like the direction of the sumi ink flowers and so I did a secondary version of my original print which I may love even more. Ready for Day 02!
